Council Highlights, Nov. 20, 2023:
1. Continued 2024 budget discussions focused on the tax-supported operating budget, including support for Central York Fire Services, Newmarket Public Library, and Downtown Business Improvement Area. 2. Council updated on the first year of Newmarket’s Animal Services program, discussing success and future considerations. Launched in July 2022, the program ensures pet and wildlife well-being through 24/7 emergency response, in-house training, and the Transparent Wildlife Care Initiative.
3. Mayor Taylor recognized Caleb Ko's archery achievements at the Ontario Summer Games, awarding a Certificate of Achievement for earning three medals, including gold and two silver competing with York County Bowman Archery Club.
