PROJECTs IN motion

Mulock Park is now in the final stages of construction and is on track to open in summer 2026.

Work has continued steadily through the winter, with major progress on park buildings, the skating trail, lighting, and the restoration of Mulock House. Landscaping and final site features will be completed in the coming months. The park will soon open as a vibrant community gathering space in the heart of Ward 6.

Keith Davis Tennis Centre Supporting the Growth of Tennis in Newmarket

The Keith Davis Tennis Centre is now fully open and supporting year-round play in our community.

Located at 50 Bennington Road, the facility features 10 courts, including 8 covered for indoor play from October to April. The Town of Newmarket operates the indoor season, while the Newmarket Community Tennis Club manages outdoor play from May to September.

Inn From the Cold Supporting Housing and Hope in Our Community

The new Inn From the Cold facility is nearing completion and is slated to open in June 2026.

This 16,000 sq ft space on Yonge Street will provide emergency shelter and expanded transitional housing with 18 beds, along with supports for stability and independence.

Margaret Arkinstall Park: Newmarket’s first fully accessible Spray Pad and Water Park nearing completion scheduled to be open by August 2021 or sooner.

Includes a soft water play surface, spray, shade sails, site furniture, connecting pathways, and a picnic area surrounded by soft landscaping.

Newmarket's First Outdoor Skate Park: A variety of skate features to accommodate junior to advanced riders and provide learning opportunities to all users and age groups.

In addition to the skatepark features, the proposed amenities include gathering areas, shade sails, picnic tables, benches, landscaping features, bike racks, and a water bottle fill station.

The property includes welcoming green space and a historic home, all in the centre of urban Newmarket at the northwest corner of Mulock Drive and Yonge Street. Inline Council’s Strategic Priorities, Extraordinary Places and Spaces the Mulock Property has completed its full design and master plan.

George Luesby Park: Replacement of play equipment, playground surfacing will be engineered wood fibre and depressions in concrete for for accessibility needs.

New stainless steel tri-waste units to be installed

Replacing existing pathways with wider asphalt
New park signs (with 911 address)

Seneca Cook Parkette: All-new larger playground, new wood chips, picnic table, tri-waste, and trees.

Jordanray Boulevard: Speed Limit Reduction to 20km/h

Traffic Calming Bollard Program: Joe Persechini Drive, Doubletree Lane

Newmarket High School: Newmarket's First Automated Speed Enforcement Camera - Coming November 2021

Clearmeadow Boulevard and Bathurst Street: Traffic Light Installed

Summerhill South: New Fully Accessible School Crosswalk and New Stop Sign at Peter Hall Drive and Sawmill Valley Drive

Jim Bond Park: Existing trails converted to asphalt, new benches, tri-waste containers and proposal for lighting approved.

Included in the Mulock Property Mater Plan.

Clare Salisbury Parkette: All-new playground, basketball court, swings, bike rack and picnic table.

Paul Semple Park: All-new playground, new wood fibre (replace sand), swing set, and trees.

Whipper Billy Watson Park: All-new playground, wood fibre (replace sand), existing trails to be converted to asphalt, accessibility ramp and more.

- Asphalt trail to the playground surfacing

- Installation of new park furniture around the playground, trails and ball diamond

- Basketball area to be resurfaced

Tom Taylor Trail: Connectivity and completion of new affordable recreation.

Mulock Drive Multi-use Path: East-west path will be designed to allow for a wide-range of recreational uses such as cycling, walking, jogging and wheelchair access.
