Honouring a Local Legacy: A Park Renaming to Remember Jim Bond

In a heartfelt tribute to a man who dedicated his life to serving others, the Town of Newmarket is renaming College Manor Park in honour of the late Jim Bond a beloved firefighter, coach, and community volunteer. As his original namesake park at 160 Jordanray Blvd. has been combined into the new Mulock Park, this thoughtful gesture ensures that Jim Bond’s legacy of service and kindness will continue to be remembered for generations to come.

Jim Bond Park (formerly College Manor Park) is located at 705 College Manor Drive includes Parking, Washrooms, Ball Field, Tennis Court, Basketball Court, Trails / Pathways, Playground, and Permanent Picnic Tables.

Thank you to the Town of Newmarket staff for their thoughtful planning and to journalist Joseph Quigley Newmarket Today for capturing this meaningful story so beautifully.
