Mulock Park Update: Here’s What You Need to Know (January 31 – March 6, 2025
Mulock Park Update: Exciting Progress!
The transformation of Mulock Park is underway, and there’s a lot happening! From new buildings rising to key milestones being reached, here’s a glimpse of the exciting progress as we move closer to bringing this incredible space to life.
Even though the ground is frozen, construction at Mulock Park is full steam ahead. Crews are making great progress, and I’m excited to share the latest updates on what’s happening and what’s on the go now.
What Happened in January?
Fencing went up - Separate work areas were created for the Mulock Park and Mulock House construction sites to keep everything safe and organized.
Buildings started taking shape - The Skate Pavilion, Maintenance Building, and Conservatory Greenhouse began to rise as block walls were put in place. With the walls up, crews could start planning for roofing and interior work.
Geothermal system prepped – The wellfield for the new heating and cooling system was installed and is now ready to connect to Mulock House.
Soil moving continued – Temporary soil piles were relocated on-site as needed.
Parking lot progress – Gravel and electrical ductwork were installed at the Yonge Street Parking Lot, setting the stage for further development.
What’s on the Go Now?
Framing the new artist’s studio - The former stable is being transformed into a creative space. Last year, crews carefully removed and saved key elements of the original structure so they could be reused in the new design.
Interior work underway - Insulation, waterproofing, and electrical and mechanical systems are being installed in the new buildings.
Parking lot lights installation - Over the winter, lights are being installed in the Yonge Street Parking Lot- they’ll be fully operational in the spring once everything is connected.
Entry Bridge excavation - Work has started on the Entry Bridge, which will create a pedestrian entrance to the park at Yonge Street and Mulock Drive.
Mulock House restoration - Foundation work is beginning, and the veranda reconstruction is set to start in March.
Keeping construction moving through the winter - ‘Frost fighter’ heaters are running to protect the buildings as they go up. The Town is working with contractors to keep generator noise to a minimum.
Soil Removal Begins Today - Starting today, March 6, and continuing through March 7, soil is being hauled off-site via Osler Court, Jordanray Boulevard, and Doubletree Boulevard between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. Trucks are using the shortest route possible to reach Mulock Drive. Extra supervision is on-site to ensure safe operations, and streets are being continuously swept to minimize dust. All roads remain open, and the Town is working closely with the contractor to limit traffic to Yonge Street and Mulock Drive as much as possible.
A Sneak Peek at the Playscape!
While construction is happening on-site, builders are hard at work creating fun and imaginative elements for the Natural Discovery Playscape - a space designed to inspire play and creativity for all ages.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to our residents and neighbours for your patience, support, and enthusiasm for this incredible community project. Your understanding during construction has been invaluable, and I can’t wait to see this space come to life for everyone to enjoy.
