Provide your feedback on the future of tennis and pickleball in Newmarket

The Town recently hosted two Public Information Centres to share how we're supporting the growth of tennis and pickleball in Newmarket, and to hear feedback from residents. For those who couldn't attend, or have more feedback to provide, complete the surveys (linked below) for each sport.

Tennis

Over the past few years, there has been a significant growth in the sport of tennis. In addition to the goals set out in the Town's Recreation Playbook, last year, Newmarket announced a Municipal Capital Facilities Agreement with Shining Hill Developments that will see a new tennis facility and clubhouse constructed on Bennington Road

Pickleball

Pickleball has also experienced significant growth over the past few years. This growth, coupled with the goals set out in the Town's Recreation Playbook prompted the public engagement session to ensure the Town can continue to support the pickleball community.

Surveys close on Friday, February 17. For any additional questions, reach out to recreation@newmarket.ca

What's next?

Feedback gathered from both Public Information Centres and online surveys will help the Town formulate seasonal operating models and strategies in order to support pickleball and tennis players in Newmarket. A report to Council with information gathered from both PICs is expected to be completed in March 2023.
