Councillor Kelly Broome Top Three Things - Council Meeting January 22, 2024
To support the goal of making our community vibrant and strong, the Council has created a fund for this purpose. This fund will help Town staff carry out projects that fit this goal. At first, the fund will be used to make and put into action a plan to promote Newmarket as a top spot to live, work, and start a business. This plan will be based on the best ideas for boosting the economy, advertising the town, and creating a great place to live.
In September 2023, Metroland Media Group announced that they would no longer publish the local newspaper, the Era. This prompted the Town to review the rules for public notices to make sure they still work for the community. The findings from the review were used to update the Notice Policy and Procedure By-law to include new ways for residents to get information and connect with the Town.
Community involvement is a big reason why Newmarket is a great place to live, work, and have fun. Residents are encouraged to keep sharing their thoughts on town projects and activities. There are various ways to join the conversation, including in-person, via mail, email, and online.
By working together, sharing information, and ideas, and being engaged in our community we can achieve great things for Newmarket.
With Gratitude,
Kelly Broome
Councillor - Ward 6
