The Recovery - LDD

Trees recovering from Lymantria dispar dispar (LDD) - Gypsy Moth feedings

Tree leaves have begun to regrow in Newmarket after being eaten by the Lymantria dispar dispar (LDD) caterpillars. LDD moths are currently in between the cocoon/pupae and the moth phase of the lifecycle. If you have a trap set up on your tree, you can remove it and save the burlap for next season. Staff continue to monitor hotspot areas in Town and are preparing for the next phase where the moths will begin to lay egg masses. Learn more
