NEW HOURS: Whipper Watson Community Ice Rink
OUR VOLUNTEERS
This rink was made possible by kind-hearted thoughtful neighbourhood volunteers in order to provide a safe opportunity for outdoor skating. The ice is maintained, programmed and supervised by volunteers in partnership with the Town of Newmarket Recreation and Culture, Ward 6 Councillor Kelly Broome, By-Law Officers, and local authorities to make sure all public health rules are being followed.
RULES
- 16 Skater Maximum and must maintain a physical distance of 2-meters from other users at all times.
- Please be respectful and share the ice safely. A 45-minute skate time limit is encouraged when skaters are waiting to use the ice.
- Non-medical masks must be worn.
- All skaters must be wearing ice skates and helmets are strongly recommended.
- No games or scrimmages are permitted.
- No alcohol, smoking/vaping or pets on the ice.
- Children under the age of 10 years old are recommended to be accompanied by a guardian at least 16 years of age or older.
- Parents waiting outside the fenced-in area are not included on the 16 maximum limited.
- Please shovel before and after you use the ice.
HOURS OF OPERATION
Monday - Tuesday - Wednesday- Thursday - Friday- 3 pm - 9 pm
Saturday-Sunday 10am - 2 pm & 4 pm - 9 pm
YES: Portable washroom is on-site.
YES: Lights will stay on during the evening scheduled hours of operation.
