Modified Stage 2 York Region

Effective today, York Region will be implementing modified Stage 2 restrictions across the Region’s nine cities and towns for the next 28 days.

Modified Stage 2 will result in the closure of:

• Indoor food and drink service in restaurants, bars, nightclubs and food courts in malls

• Indoor gyms and fitness centres

• Casinos, bingo halls and other gaming establishments

• Indoor cinemas

• Performing arts centres and venues

• Spectator areas in racing venues

• Interactive exhibits or exhibits with high risk of personal contact, such as museums, galleries, zoos, science centres, and landmarks

• Prohibiting personal care services where face coverings must be removed for the service (e.g. makeup application, beard trimming)

• Jury selection for provincial court trials

• Short-term and temporary absences of Long-Term Care Centres for social or personal reasons
