Newmarket Playground Closes, Ontario Learn at Home & COVID-19 Updates

Dear friends and neighbours,

I am writing to you all today to say thank you once again for the care and consideration I am seeing across all our neighbourhoods. We all need to help each other during these difficult times and work together to make sure all our families, friends, and neighbours are safe. Please check in on each other and if you can lend a hand, please do while practising safe distancing.

Newmarket Declares State of Emergency

At the March 18 Emergency Council Meeting, Mayor John Taylor declared a State of Emergency in response to COVID-19 in the Town of Newmarket.

"This is an unprecedented time that most of us have never experienced in our lifetime. Declaring a state of an emergency is not to incite panic, but to incite action and allow the Town to dedicate more resources and be in a better position to respond to COVID-19." says Mayor John Taylor. "It is time for us as a community to do our part to help flatten the curve and stabilize the spread of COVID-19. We need to listen to our Public Health Officials and seriously practice social distancing in order to limit the spread of COVID-19 to save lives." Learn more...
