The Artificial Turf Sports Field installation at Dr. John M. Denison Secondary School

The Town of Newmarket, in partnership with the York Region District School Board (YRDSB), celebrated the official opening of the new artificial turf sports field at Dr J.M. Denison Secondary School.

This has been in the works since 2016 and we are very excited to see its completion. The Town of Newmarket, in partnership with the York Region District School Board have identified an opportunity to provide an artificial turf sports field at Dr. John M. Denison Secondary School to open in the fall of 2017 as recommended in our Recreation Playbook which has already been passed by Newmarket Council.   There were delays which can happen when planning a signicifate project but our staff were able to work well with the School Board to make this incredible field a reality.

The Artificial Turf Sports Field installation at Dr. John M. Denison Secondary School includes:

  • Replace existing field with an artificial turf field with lights, bleachers, storage structure and perimeter fencing

  • Eight lane 400 metre rubber running track

  • High jump and Long jump triple jump

  • Updated landscaping around the perimeter
