NEXT STEPS Proposed development in Ward 6

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the residents for attending the information Session regarding the proposed south west quadrant development in Ward 6.  It was a great turn out of truly caring people looking to ensure their neighbourhood stays safe and protected.

There were several great questions and the developer left possitive and has a good solid understanding of where we are as residents and what is important to us.

The next steps are to host an Official Public meeting.  This meeting is very similar to the one we had on Tuesday May 2.  This meeting is more official, will include many staff present to hear, record and answer questions, and the developer to provide more information.  When you ask a question you will be requested to give your name, address and possibley speak into a microphone.  If you are not comfortable you can send your questions in advance to planning@newmarket.ca or call 905-953-5321.

I thought it was important to have two meetings to give residents an opportunity to learn what the process is, understand our role, and ensure we have all our questions prepared.

The town has posted a sign in the neighbourhood where the proposed development is to help inform residents of this meeting.

The Official Public Meeting will take place on Monday May 29th 7pm at the council office 395 Mulock Drive.
