Get ready residents of Armstrong Family Park & Emily Grove Park
Neighbourhood Network coordinates a tree planting day every spring in the towns of Aurora, East Gwillimbury, Georgina, King Township, and Newmarket. This program is run to compliment National Volunteer Week and Earth Day initiatives, and to provide growing benefits for our communities.
This year on Saturday April 29th 2017 Newmarket Ward 6 Armstrong Family Park & Emily Grove Park have been selected to receive several large trees along with 400 shrubs to be planted behind the homes and along the trails of Armstrong Family Park & Emily Grove Park..
What Are the Goals?
To re-establish native tree species and to enhance water quality in local streams and wetlands.
To offer a hands-on volunteer experience for students, families, and businesses.
To participate in nation-wide giving throughout April.
How Does the Program Work?
Neighbourhood Network works with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority and our partnered municipalities to determine the planting locations and fundraise for the trees. Volunteers are then signed up to plant in their community.
