Earth Hour 2017

Each year, millions of people around the world will switch off for Earth Hour to shine a light on climate action. Be a part of the movement towards building a better tomorrow for our planet and future generations. Take one hour to power down by shining a light on climate action and change climate change.

Around the globe, millions of people, businesses and landmarks set aside an hour to host events, switch off their lights and make Earth Hour happen. Earth Hour is more than an event, it is a movement. From its humble beginnings in 2007, WWF's Earth Hour has grown to become the worlds largest grassroots-led environmental movement for the planet, engaging more than 179 countries and territories worldwide.

This year marks the tenth anniversary, a new milestone in its commitment to make the planet a better place for all, now and for future generations. Over the past ten years, WW and Earth Hour teams worldwide have brought thousands of individuals together to help fund and support this environmental initiative to advance the goal for a sustainable, climate-friendly future.

Join us on the Town of Newmarket's Facebook event page, use the hashtag #ChangeClimateChange on Twitter and let s know what you are doing to power down and shine a light on climate action. Be sure to power down on March 25 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. to shine a light on climate action and make a difference.
