Public Works Services, Operations Centre Snow Update

As an update for today’s snow event, town staff have completed an application of sand /salt early this morning on all streets.  As the snow kept falling from 5 am until 2:45 pm this afternoon, PWS concentrated on the primaries and secondary roads with ploughing and salt/sand applications. All streets at this time have not been ploughed.
 
The process for tonight will be to monitor the temperature and road conditions. If the conditions stay good we will wait till late tonight and all trucks will go out to plough/sand/salt all roads overnight. Be advised side streets will be snow covered until later tonight.
 
Approx.. 5 to 6 cm of snow has fallen.
