Community Parks Update: Ward 6 Parks, Trails and Sport Fields ... Playground and Park Improvements
The town of newmarket believes that an integral part of our community is the ongoing commitment to provide our residents with beautiful, enjoyable and safe parklands.
as part of this commitment, the town has identified an opportunity to provide park improvements at clare salisbury parkette (clearmeadow p.s.) starting thursday july 28, 2016. The improvements will take approximately 4 – 6 weeks to complete.
Clare Salisbury Parkette Enhancements:
• replacement of exercise equipment and additional swing set
• existing smaller play equipment and swing set to remain on site
• playground surfacing will be engineered woodchip for accessibility needs
• new asphalt walkways and basketball court area
• depressions made in the asphalt/concrete for accessibility into the play areas.
• new stainless steel tri-waste units to be installed
• new trees to be planted in various areas• new park benches
• new park sign with street address for 911 services
Please remember that while clare salisbury parkette is under service, disruptions may occur. there are alternate parks nearby, available for your enjoyment as follows:
• Seneca Cook Parkette access off of Clearmeadow Boulevard
• George Luesby Park access off of Clearmeadow Boulevard
• Whipper Watson Park access off of Clearmeadow Boulevard

PROPOSED PLAYGROUND AND PARKLAND IMPROVEMENTS
The Town of Newmarket is committed to providing residents with beautiful, enjoyable, accessible and safe parklands in our community. The Town has identified an opportunity to provide playground structure and park improvements at the following parks in the Summer of 2016:
Paul Semple Park Armitage Village Public School (Savage Road on the Tom Taylor Trail)
Paul Semple Park Armitage Village Public School (Summer 2016) improvements include:
• New playground structure (closest to the school) along with a swing set will be installed.
• The existing middle playground structure will remain on site.
• Playground surfacing around playground structures and swing sets using engineered wood fibres for accessibility needs.
• Removal of retaining wall(s) located around the playground equipment.
• Installation of new park furniture around the playground and swing set area.
• New trees will be planted in various areas around the park.
• Design, layout, 3D flyover
• Clare Salisbury Park Clearmeadow P.S. (Clearmeadow Boulevard)
Clare Salisbury Park Clearmeadow P.S. (Summer 2016) improvements include:
• New playground structure (replacing large south structure). The existing little playground structure and swing set will remain on site.
• Playground surfacing around playground structures and swing sets using engineered wood fibres for accessibility needs.
• Installation of new park furniture around the playground and swing set area.
• New trees to be planted in various areas around the park.
