Economic Development Strategy

Newmarket Council endorsed Newmarket’s Economic Development Strategy for 2016 to 2020. The Economic Development Strategy will serve as a road map for the Newmarket Economic Development Advisory Committee (NEDAC) and support Council’s strategic priorities.

This Economic Development Strategy will reflect Newmarket’s designation as an Urban Growth Centre under Ontario’s Places to Grow Strategy. It will create a framework to encourage residential and employment intensification on the Yonge and Davis corridors, while protecting existing neigbourhoods and quality of life.
